‘Adornment and Identity’ – An Exploratory Project
In this documentary project outfits provided by family and friends for the deceased were photographed and these images collated on a large canvas. It aims to explore the nature and rationale for this ritual in Australian culture.
(Photographic print - 160cm x 90 cm)
Over a period of 5 months I visited Kingston Funerals fortnightly taking images of individual outfits provided for the deceased for their viewing and burial.
A chart is located within the canvas describing the age, sex and dress of each involved with the title “Dressing for Death”.
